The University of Ghana hosted a high-level academia-based launch of StatsBank on Tuesday 29th August. The launch featured a detailed introduction to the GSS StatsBank and other data user-centred products. The launch was chaired by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo. Other speakers were the Government Statistician, Prof. Samuel Kobina Annim; the Director of the Regional Institute for Population Studies, Prof. Ayaga Bawah; and the Deputy Ambassador for the Embassy of Denmark, Ms. Vibeke Sandholm Pedersen.
The main objective of the launch was to raise awareness in the University committee of the availability of the Census data in the StatsBank and foster stronger cooperation between the GSS, academic institutions, and key strategic institutions in industry, public sector, civil society, and the development partner community. Similar launches will be organised at four other universities across the country.
